Michael J. Convery
Michael J. Convery joined the law firm of Keefe Law Firm as counsel in February 2016. He graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1991. Thereafter, he enrolled in the Rutgers University School of Public Policy and Planning and focused his interest in the areas of Planning and Regional Development. In 1993, he was admitted to the Seton Hall University School of Law, and has been in private practice in New Jersey since 1996. He is also admitted to the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. His membership affiliations include the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Monmouth County Bar Association, and the Middlesex County Bar Association, as well as other numerous civic and community organizations.
In 1997, Mr. Convery was named the first Public Defender for the Township of East Brunswick, representing over 304 Defendants during his first year. In 1999, he was appointed attorney for the Edison Sheltered Workshop, a non-profit organization formed to place individuals with disabilities into the workforce. In 2002, he was named assistant open space counsel for the Middlesex County Improvement Authority, negotiating land preservation purchases for the County of Middlesex. Mr. Convery has served as review counsel for a number of local lending institutions.
Throughout his over 20 years in private practice, Mr. Convery’s concentration focused in the areas of real and personal property. His areas of concentration include residential and commercial real estate purchases and sales; refinances; Landlord-Tenant matters; Residential and Commercial Property Tax Appeals; Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning; Estate Administration; Land Use and Zoning; and Commercial Business and Partnership formation.
Due to Mr. Convery’s past experience, his further concentrations include Construction Litigation, Estate and Probate Litigation, Municipal Court Defense and General Civil Litigation.
Mr. Convery’s background brings an expansion of service and a new dimension to the Keefe Law Firm.
